FedEx Delivers Food Essentials and Financial Aid to Flood Victims in Thailand

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, has responded to the serious flooding in Thailand by donating US$15,000 to support the flood relief efforts, while at the same time delivering 500 survival kits (valued at 50,000 bhat) containing much-needed ready-to-eat, non-perishable food and other supplies to flood victims in Thailand. GAB Foundation Continues its Support for Education

GAB Foundation continues its commitment to education by donating RM24,000 to Yayasan Sin Chew’s ‘We-Care-Sponsor-A-Child’ Programme. Standard Chartered sets sights high with US$100 million target to eradicate avoidable blindness

Standard Chartered has announced – at the 2011 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting – that it will raise US$100 million by 2020 to build sustainable eye-care services across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, almost trebling its fundraising for the prevention of blindness from 2003 to date. With nearly 90 per cent of avoidable blindness occurring in the developing world1, the issue affects economic productivity in countries where Standard Chartered operates. Through its latest commitment, the Bank aims to support further progress towards eliminating avoidable blindness by 2020. Read more
