Bernama, Malaysia’s News Agency, celebrates International Children’s Day of Broadcasting this Sunday for the first time in Malaysia. A host of Malaysian television and radio stations will invite children to read news, including sports, host programmes or voice their views at the event.

The theme for this year is ‘All Rights, All Children’, marking the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Participating radio and television stations include AI Fm, Era Fm, Bernama Radio 24, Minnal FM, RTM TV2, TV3, NTV7 and TRAXX.fm. For Bernama, its involvement in the project is in line with the corporate social responsibility (CSR) which was launched this year.

Bernama Radio 24 producer and CSR chief, Farah Harith, was quoted as saying:

This is our second CSR programme after the Chinese New Year programme and it gives an opportunity to children to know about the broadcasting fraternity and learn how a radio station functions.

The CSR Digest is Asia’s leading online journal devoted to the rapidly emerging business of Corporate Social Responsibility. To support our continuing expansion, we are actively looking to recruit young writers and editors on either a trainee or intern basis.

The publication targets an international audience or corporations, CSR professionals, ethical fund managers as well as the worldwide public. As such, we are looking only for staff with fluent and accurate international English.

They will be working under the direction of the publication’s founder, Daniel Chandranayagam, who apart from his work in CSR, is a regular columnist with the Sun, and has published books on a range of legal and social topics.

This is an exciting oportunity for intending writers and journalists to experience the real world environment of on-line publishing. If you are interested to know more about this opportunity, we would be pleased to hear from them. Write in to editor [at] csrdigest [dot] com with your CV, stating why you think you would be good for the job.
