Colgate-Palmolive Marketing Sdn Bhd (Colgate) recently launched its collaboration with Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd (Mydin), a Malaysian Wholesale Hypermarket, for the second year consecutively, as an added boost to its ‘Mari Beramal Bersama Colgate’ campaign.
From now until 30 September 2010, Mydin will set aside an additional RM0.20 from the sales of the ‘Mari Beramal Bersama Colgate’ charity twin-packs – Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection and Colgate Kayu Sugi 175g toothpaste – at all 42 Mydin outlets for distribution among 12 orphanages selected by the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat. In keeping true to the spirit of giving and sharing, the ‘Mari Beramal Bersama Colgate’ campaign aims to provide some financial support to the selected orphanages.

Issam Bachaalani, Managing Director of Colgate-Palmolive Marketing Sdn Bhd said:
Because many generous Malaysians may not have the time or means to contribute towards charitable causes, we at Colgate created the ‘Mari Beramal Bersama Colgate’ campaign to connect the community with a cause that they can relate and contribute to. Our target is to increase the contribution this year which will go towards education, overall welfare and maintenance of children charity homes.
This year, Colgate is aiming to increase its contribution to RM120,000 for 12 orphanages from around the country with the introduction of charity twin-packs for Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection and Colgate Kayu Sugi 175gm toothpastes. During the ‘Mari Beramal Bersama Colgate’ 2010 campaign, RM0.20 from every purchase of the special charity twin-packs during the campaign period will be set aside for distribution to the selected orphanages.

Mr Bachaalani elaborated:
We hope to emulate the success of this last year’s joint collaboration with Mydin. In the spirit of togetherness, we hope that the boost we are receiving from Mydin will help us achieve the target we have set for this year. This will enable us to donate to more orphanages.
Speaking at the launch of the collaboration, Tn. Ahimmat bin Mydin, Executive Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd said:
We are pleased to inform that Colgate has once again chosen MYDIN as ‘partner’ for the noble intention. By setting aside RM0.20 from the sales of Colgate toothpaste, this is our way to fulfill fardhu kifayah as a Muslim company to help those in needs. We hope that our contribution will bring joy to the orphans in celebrating Hari Raya.
