Bernama reports that members of the Malaysian Airline System Employees Union (MASEU) have called on all government linked companies (GLCs) to disclose their minimum wage rate.

The union have urged the GLCs to be more transparent, in line with corporate social responsibility (CSR) relating to labour and employment.

MASEU has now joined the ranks of the many who call on the government to impose a statutory minimum wage to safeguard workers in the country.

The union was reported to have stated:

In the absence of a statutory minimum wage, employers often insist that it must be determined by market forces, which in several cases, falls below the poverty line of income.
