India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs has launched voluntary guidelines for responsible business which aim to add value to the operations and contribute towards the long term sustainability of the business. These guidelines also aim to enable business to focus as well as contribute towards the interests of the stakeholders and the society. The new CSR guidelines state that the CSR initiatives of Indian companies should become integral part of overall business policy and aligned with business goals. The guidelines set out six core elements for companies to address.

The Ministry is very keen that more and more businesses in India adopt these voluntary guidelines.

The guidelines were issued at the conclusion of the first India Corporate Week in late December 2009. Please click here for more information.
