The Environment, Energy and Green Technology Committee (EEGT) has been set up by the EU-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry (EUMCCI) in Kuala Lumpur. The Committee not only aims to provide its members with information concerning environmental matters and green/clean energy issues, but also will function as a forum where members exchange experiences and information and share their concerns.
In order to disseminate this information, the committee will hold regular meetings, with guest speakers who are opinion leaders or highly ranked government officials involved in environmental and energy policy-making processes. The committee will also address issues of concern with the relevant government authorities for further action through position papers, lobbying, and face-to-face interaction with government officials.
In short, the Committee is essential in outlining main trade barriers to EU companies in Malaysia.
The EUMCCI is now seeking to recruit members for the EEGT committee. Company representatives who are involved in renewable energy, green technology, and reducing carbon emissions are invited to make enquiries at the contact below. CEOs, heads of business development and senior representatives of companies are invited to get in touch with the EUMCCI.
Members of the EEGT committee must commit to:
- Attend the monthly/quarterly EEGT meetings
- Actively participate in projects and initiate new ones
- Lobby and assist member companies to achieve common objectives
